Denver, Colorado (January 27, 2023) – The Lawt, (fka Legal Marketing & Staffing), a national legal search firm for law firms and in-house counsel, is now certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE). WBENC is the largest certifier of women’s business enterprises in the U.S. and a leading advocate for women business owners, leaders, and entrepreneurs.

“We are thrilled to be a WBENC-Certified enterprise,” said Katie McMahan, Owner and Managing Director of LMS. “WBENC Certification aligns with our values and commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It is an important reminder to our clients that DEI is not only relevant to who we hire, but who we choose to do business with.”

Pamela S. Williamson, PhD, President/CEO, Women’s Business Enterprise Council-West shared, “We are proud to count The Lawt as one of the 18,000 plus certified WBEs in the U.S.”

To become a WBENC-Certified WBE, The Lawt underwent a rigorous certification process, including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm that the business is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women.
